Question About 59 Day Visa

Does anyone know what that fee is?

3030 PHP

Get it BEFORE you go through the immigration booth. If you get the 30 day stamp first they may not do the extension. If you are at customs it is too late.

The locations for Manila and Cebu given earlier are still correct. Davao, look for the immigration administrative office. If you don't see it ASK before getting a stamp in your passport.

Most of the time immigration officers do not bite. My experience anyway.

Yep, if I look at my latest series of extensions:  16 May, 16 jul, 16 Sep, 16 Nov. 16 Jan

Im not experienced at this seeking an extension exercise, but I take it for the very first extension you are arriving and seek the extension before going through customs, as for the further extensions, do you attend an immigration office and apply (therefore no requirement to leave the country) or do you have to leave the country and come back and apply for another 2 month visa?  If per chance you can apply for the further extensions without leaving the country what questions do they ask before approving the extension.  What about this Bailiko visa (not sure if that is how you spell it) which they are not obligated to give you (at their discretion) and is that for a 1 year?

When you arrive in PH you have 2 choices:

1. Go through immigration and get a 30-day visa waiver.

2. Get a 30 day + 29-day extension BEFORE going through immigration first then pass through immigration with a 59 day visa waver.

Before your initial arrival-visa expires go to BI office in the area that can process Tourist (9a) visa extensions. Ask for 1 or 2 or 6 months extension.

Repeat this for max. 36 months or until you leave. After a stay of more than 6 months you need to an ECC at the BI office before you exit the country. The first time ECC application may require an Alien Registration with finger printing and picture taking.

If you have latest Adobe Acrobat you can "fill" out the downloadable application form, print it (legal paper size) and safe it for the next extension.Saves a bit of time at the BI office.

A balikbayan visa requires you to arrive at port of entry together with your Filipino spouse. But as stated it depends on the immigration officers discretion. Some even get a balikbayan visa arriving alone (with prove of being married to a Filipino?).

Most of the time immigration is very lenient on balibayan visas.

It would be the first time in my 8 years of running this forum that I have heard of anyone getting a Babalikan visa without their Filipina wife with them. I could be wrong but I do not think they a lenient on the Babalikan visa as the rules are pretty straight forward.

They are easy on balikbayan visa if  your filipino spouse has not been out of the country for 1 year.

Not saying, giving out balikbayan visa to any arriving spouse traveling alone.

Ok, back to the original question with a little more detail.

When I flew PAL into NAIA Terminal 2 there were 2 lines to immigration. I took the first one 'connecting flights' and did not see an office to go to before immigration. I am leaving and will be returning through terminal 2 again next week.

Can anyone 'tell me where to go'  at NAIA Terminal 2 to get my 30 day thing-a-ma-jig and 29 day do-hicky so I have 59 days to head to the BI office? Also, is that a day-shift only option or are they open for all arrivals?

(at this point I don't care what they call it or the actual quadratic formula they use for figuring what exact date they use for the third leap year after the second blue moon...) :1 (103):

Mwah ha hah.  We are all withholding the information from you just to piss you off.   :hystery:   Just kidding, I have only flown domestically into Terminal 2 and its possible that none of the other members have been to the immigration office in Terminal 2 either

That is an expensive little Sticker but it does save space in the Passport.

Stolen from the web

I just did it myself at terminal 2. Asked the immigration officer for a 59 day visa. They walked me to the side room just behind the immigration counters, asked for 2800 peso (2300 + 500 express fee) and less than 15 minutes later my passport was stamped with a 59 day visa. Waaaaaaay easier than wasting a couple hours at the crowded Bureau of Immigration, damn. Thanks so much for saving me the hassle.

Yup, that's actually my high tech, genius level backup plan. When I get there I will ask.  :tiphat: Thank you, Thank you very much...
