How The Philippines Got Asia's Worst Internet Service

We tried for weeks to get PLDT to even reply to our application.

We did the switch promo to PLDT and yes, they were rather slow in doing the hook up but not as slow as Globe was in doing the disconnect. It took 5 weeks of many emails and phone calls before they finally let us go. They required  all kinds of IDs, letters and other info just to drag it on for another month.

The switch promo is good as we get the 1299p package at 1/2 price for 1 year with speed boost to 3 mbps plus landline.

I'm sure it wasn't easy getting the worst internet in Asia but what really amazes me is the hard work and lengths they go, to keep their #1 ranking!

Please tell me it will get better in the next 12 to 18 months?

I am hoping it gets better here in Iloilo.  The government recently passed a bill for free public wifi nationwide. (yeah, good luck)  On the bright side Iloilo is one of the first major centers scheduled to get the free wifi.  I am hoping there are some major network improvements coming... I am not holding my breathe... but false hope is better than no hope :tiphat:

Yes, it is going to be 10 mbps nationwide, satellite based. They are starting to make the hollow blocks for the launchpad. Not!
