Can you keep using the "free" 30 days?  For example:

Fly in to Manila on Sept 1 and Stay until Sept 30

Fly to Vietnam on Sept 30 and stay until Oct 29

Can I now fly back to the Phil and get a "free" 30 days again?

Can I keep doing this and travel to different countries around SEA and keep coming back to the Philippines for another free 30 days?

That's what I interpreted it to be, as long as your passport is valid, you can "reset" your tourist visa. If I remember correct you only need to be out of the Philippines for 24h, but I could be wrong. (Please correct me if this is not right)

Sure you can. I hope you paid to have the passport with extra pages. They can be added but it costs more after the fact.

And be sure to use an airline that gives you frequent flier miles because you'll be spending a lot on airfare :hystery:

But this I have no idea about.  The 30 free days is a Philippine visa free period for citizens of certain countries (almost all of the members here qualify but there are some visitors, from obscure countries, that do not).  I do not know what the policy is for all the other SEA countries.  And there is no limit to how long you have to leave the country.  You could fly to Hong Kong at midnight and come right back to Philippines in the morning and get another free 30 days.  Its just a pain in the butt to do that.

im glad you guys corrected the misinformation i gave... I was trying to help, but i failed. I dont want anyone to waste money.

I am not condoning posting misinformation here on the forum but I really don't that your post would cost anyone any money. Since it is a thruway ticket the date is not really that important, the price is. I buy these tickets on AirAsia all the time. I just look for the cheapest flight on any date. It's usually a one way to Manila/Kuala-Lumpur.

You're lucky to be able to do that still. Gone are the days when they would extend a UK passport by tying a new passport to the back of the old one (I was told by a lady in the FCO that they had to learn to tie a special knot to do this). AND you could get a 96 page passport.

Ah "Fings aint wot they used to be."

Question

Why would you be flying in and out all the time? Yes each time you re enter you would be stamped with 30 days but you can stay up to 36 months without having to leave so wondering what is your plans?

I'd like to visit some other countries like Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan.  I don't have a set plan yet for that though.  I was also reading in another thread how you can get a 59 day extension on arrival if you go to an office before going through immigration which is convenient.

Don't really understand your concern here with a visa over the 30 days, being Visa Free for you you can come and go as you like and each time you come back you get a new Entry date anyway so you start all over again, should you feel like staying over 30 days just pop into a BI office anywhere and do an extension. Why make life harder for yourself :89:

I don't know Jack, but you're right, I can make life harder than it has to be.  I just don't have much knowledge in these things yet, but I'm learning thanks to everyone here.  -

Last time (2+ years ago) I was there I got a an additional 30 day extension in Manila.  I remember it cost me about P5,000 to have a service pickup my passport and bring it back the next day.  I know, I know...I overpaid and put my passport at risk, but the city overwhelmed me at the time since it was my first time there.

Is getting the 30 day extension (59 total) at the airport more inconvenient than going to the BI office in Manila or Davao later on before the initial 30 days is over?  I was thinking the airport would be easier, but I don't know.  After a long flight the last thing I would want to do is wait in a long line for an extension, so maybe it's not that convenient.

I'm kind of a scatterbrain right now.  I'm not going full ex-pat, but I'm doing a lot of things here in the States to prepare for being away for about a year.  It's overwhelming, maybe more psychologically than anything else.
