SCTEX/NLEX Toll System Combined

After having been out of country for 6 months, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the SCTEX and NLEX tollways have combined their toll systems. This means that the EZ Pass that you were previously using on the NLEX only is now usable on the SCTEX (not sure if it applies to the TPLEX yet). Since the implementation of this combining, the tollway at Tipo Gate (entrance to the Subic Freeport, and a PIA stop only 400m from the previous Toll stop for a measly 22p) is being removed. 

For further convenience, you can top up your balance on the EZ Pass at SM Mall in Olongapo (aside from the Toll booth).

Yup, drove through Angeles to San Fernando and it sure makes the trip easier.  A bit of a slowdown where they are tearing down the old toll booths, but not much, and that will be gone soon.  It was so stupid that they did not build it this way in the beginning.
