Another angle on this is where do the great majority of the population get their news from here? I believe it's mainly from TV Patrol on ABS-CBN, and to a lesser extent GMA.  Even though it can be difficult for us to follow I think it is useful to know what they are seeing and hearing, especially now. Ignoring the road accidents, showbiz and telesyeries items, of course.

One doesn't then waste one's time talking about the many incidents that appear on online sources, but not on the TV news, and not being believed. And it's useful to understand their perceptions of us, when some Expat is caught up to no good.
