Popular Post OnMyWay Posted June 9, 2016 Popular Post Posted June 9, 2016 As I have posted before, my Globe DSL was slow and I cancelled it in favor of PLDT Fibr. I cancelled 4 months before the contract was up, and I told them I would not pay the early termination fee because the service was not as promised and I had an open service call that was unresolved after 3 visits from the field techs. She said she could not wave the fee and it had to be approved by upper management. So a week ago they e-mailed my final bill and it had ~p4500 early termination fee. How they came up with that, I don't know, as my service was p1299 a month and it should have been 2 months early termination fee. I paid the rest of the bill without the fee. Yesterday they mailed another bill. Low and behold, it was for 0 balance and they had taken off the fee. In fact, they owe me a credit of p500+ for the VAT that I had paid on the fee, as part of the other bill. I thought I was in for a tougher fight but not this time!
Larry45 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 We've had good service with Globe DSL here on Leyte with very few outages and 4 MB/S download on a 2 MB plan. Had a little issue with a p1000 connection 'deposit' which is just a payment and will never be refunded.."That's just how we do it here, sir". It was 3 years ago, but there was a loophole in the agreement that allowed for only a one year contract if you didn't want free unlimited globe to globe calls, or something like that. We opted out and after a long discussion, they relented and signed us up for only one year. Of course, a few months later the typhoon hit and we had no connection for 4 months...lol. Thankfully, no bill either. Yes, they TRIED to charge us when we got hooked up again. Filipinos really have zero issues with sticking it to someone...most of them...."that's just how we do it here."
