All good and dandy but expect prices to rise.

Or numbers of people hired to drop.  Many stores have too many staff anyway.

True. My plan is to hire expats living on pensions that need a bit extra but can't get too much otherwise it would affect their pensions. This way I can get them to work for a minimum wage and we all benefit, right :whistling:

Just joking folks

I don't know--it may turn out as some of you say,  but I'd still like to see more fairness for Philippine workers. Why should people have to live so precariously waiting for that six month contract to end, and in spite of being a conscientious worker most likely having to be replaced. Rights for Filipino workers in any form have been a long time coming. I know it might not work in favor of costs, but workers still have a right to better work situations IMHO.

My father taught me that the world does not owe me a living.

Mine taught me,  you get out of life what you put in but this is what he is attempting to do, give some a chance to put something in, Isn't it?:shades:

Nepotism is another issue. Alwys seems like the laziest of the lazy are somehow related to or good friends with the boss / owner.

Wonder how the big D is going to handle that issue, especially with government jobs.

Filipina's need more rights, voice of concern. They deserve more respect.  IMO

Service can be slow-sometimes real slow when waiting your turn in many PI retail or resto establishments. Cutting overhead to accommodate DU30's demand to reduce/eliminate contract workers may result in service that much slower depending on how much overhead is cut.

I'm wondering if the phrase "falling in line":crashh:  will take on a whole new meaning:mocking:.

Could be a chicken and egg type of thing. If it becomes possible to keep a job, people might start trying to keep them. I have worked places where half the crew was fired and the work output increased because the ones that weren't working weren't there for a nice long chat with the people who were trying to work.
