Probably toads http://allaboutfrogs.org/weird/general/frogtoad.html That site tells the main differences but to me, I character the frogs as living mainly in water and the toads as living in cool damp places on land.

They are highly poisonous the local toads. We do get frogs sometimes. Nowhere near as good as the frogs legs in USA. Fried to make them crunchy, I found them mostly skin and bones. Not highly regarded here, we get them only rarely. But they are out there every night.
chris49 Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Big rain then the field flooded. They guys were picking up the snails by the handful. As pictured above, clean as a whistle, but the shells irregular, all different shapes. Coming in by the tub full, but not everyone likes them. The guys here know how to cook them, so I will rely on that. Close my eyes to the dirty bits and assume that everything is neutralized during cooking. Lucky to have saved a bit of wine, red not white, so watch this space. Bad luck I had a massive bowl of guacamole and we also have mongo beans cooking. Tomorrow lunch...Filipino Snails a la Francais with la buerre and garlic. Butter and garlic.

I have so many big ones around here I thought maybe we could start a wholesale business. Do you still have some? Also would you know the species of the snail?
