Not quite sure what you mean here, 9a is a Tourist visa which you can't work on. If you are going to work and have a job offer, your company will do the paperwork as it is them that pay for it and it will belong to them, ie, you leave you go back to a 9a Tourist. You can however work on a 13a visa but you would need a wife to sponsor you for that.

Hmmmmmm still think it is your prospective employers place to do it as it is they that will sponsor you, You need to check the BI Website; http://www.immigration.gov.ph/ Click on Visas and follow the Route. The members who have done such a thing are all busy working so we hope they will reply in a while. The rest of us are retired folk so we have not done this. All I have are questions: Did you do you own paperwork or hire an agent? Is your employer taking care of it or just providing you with all the info and documents you need to do it on your own?
Dave Hounddriver Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Did you get the form from DOLE? It is here. http://www.dole.gov.ph/fndr/bong/files/AEP Application Form (3).doc You will need that before applying to BI
Gratefuled Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 First of all, why the Philippines? Of all places to look for work. Most expats come here to retire, not work.
roberto Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 My employer will be assisting me but I was really wondering about the amount of time that it usually takes to get the 9g visa once we submit all of the forms?

Roberto, hate to say it but, to the best of my knowledge none of the active members on the board are currently working. So we can not really answer your question. Best advice I can give would be to ask your future employer. Hopefully he has done this before and will have an idea on how long the process takes. Good luck
