Gratefuled Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 (edited) My wife has a lot of clothes. She loves to shop and is an easy mark for "Buy One Take One", or 50% off. The problem is, it's usually junk and she will only wear it once or twice. I hate to shop with her but whenever she wants a new blouse or dress I make sure I go with her and help her choose. She doesn't like to spend a lot but I would rather her buy good clothes and wear them more than once. She has a lot of clothes that she says she will give to the Lumads. Me, on the other hand have few clothes. When I want new clothes I have a "throw out party" and throw out anything I haven't wore or used in 6 months or more. This includes other useless junk. Anyone with similar experience? Edited August 24, 2016 by Gratefuled addition.

Popular Post Dave Hounddriver Posted August 25, 2016 Popular Post Posted August 25, 2016 Yes I have similar experiences with Yvonne. I do not want to teach her to buy better quality, expensive clothes because so long as she is happy going out and buying a new blouse for 100 pesos then she can do that twice a week and its cheap entertainment for her.

The wisdom on this board never ceases to amaze me LOL.
Popular Post DavidK Posted August 25, 2016 Popular Post Posted August 25, 2016 Err isn't this standard with women? They like to shop and generally don't like to wear clothes more than a couple of times (other women notice). We however get comfortable with our clothes and therefore wear them. Usually I've just got a good polo shirt nicely broken-in when the wife is telling me not to wear it "Because it's faded". Like I care.........

Popular Post Steve GCC Posted August 25, 2016 Popular Post Posted August 25, 2016 ditto my wife shops for bargains. I did try once to get her some nice, quality clothes including a rather expensive jacket that she looked stunning in I must say. She then promptly washed it, as they do.......but should have been dry cleaned. Need less to say I now happily watch her bargain shop for cheepys and dont bat an eye lid!
Popular Post Nephi Posted August 25, 2016 Popular Post Posted August 25, 2016 No matter what race or country, women are I think basically the same in thought an in their driving force in life. They love to shop. For us (guys), usually shopping is done when there is no other choice and it has been put off as long as possible. To women, shopping is a social activity and a reliever of stress. No matter the income level they most always look for bargains to save money. Many years ago I had a mother in law that would fly every month from Los Angeles to New York just for the month end sales! A friends mother once flew all the way to France to have a set of French doors custom made for her home in the Hollywood Hills of Encino!!! Just remember this.. When God created the world he "rested" after each creative period. There were seven in all. Finally, in the 7th and last creative period, he created Woman. Since then -NO One Has Rested !!!
Kuya John Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Just when I thought I was the only one with a shopaholic wife! We bought a set of wardrobes for the back bedroom, within 24hrs my Pineapple Princess had filled them!!

I thought my Yvonne was the only Pineapple Princess. She even has an online presence as the "Pineapple Crown" online personal shopping princess. Oops. As I read this to her before posting she tells me: "I'm a Queen. I'm the Pineapple Queen".
