Comparisons, Trump and President Duterte?

Here's my opinion.

I've grown to respect what President Duterte is doing. ( I was against him at first) He is true to his word. He comes from working class and climbed the ladder of success by helping the poor. He may have a way of doing things that many disagree with but he is ready to die for what he believes is the right thing to do.

Trump on the other hand was born with a silver or gold spoon in his mouth and cannot relate to the poor and oppressed. He is a liar and a bigot. He's done nothing for anyone but himself. Most Americans dislike him.

Both are arrogant and disrespectful.

What are your views?

I agree that both Duterte and Trump are a little crude and both are kick ass get it done types. I expect Trump to be much more pro business than Hillary and unless you want 8 more years of 1% growth he is your only choice unless your number one issue is gay rights. Hillary has stated that she intends to follow Obama's wealth redistribution policies which have been a disaster for his supporters. Obama will go down in history as the Food stamp President who totally screwed up the Healthcare system.

I would take Dirty Harry Duterte any day.

Trump is an arrogant retard who will put Filipino immigrants on the blacklist.

But unless you are voting third party for someone like Gary Johnson, it's either Hillary or Trump. Sad but true.

When did Trump say that? You need to stop watching CNN with all their lies.

Have to disagree on this point Jake, I believe (and I might be wrong) Trump was referring to increased scrutiny of immigrants from countries where there is a terrorism presence. The Abu's (who I think are thugs not terrorists really) have pledged allegiance to ISIS and they are terrorists. So Technically the Philippines qualifies. As for a blacklist, I don't believe that will happen. The scrutiny might increase, but is that really a bad thing?

Is that really a bad thing? IMHO it depends what you do with the spoon? How many rich kids use the spoon to snort coke up their nose? (If the Trump propaganda is to be believed) His dad gave him a million bucks. He has a whole bunch more than that now. How many of our (USA) leaders recently are really working class? Gore-Dad was a senator, Kerry-wife is the Hienz ketchup heiress, Bush-Dad was a senator, McCain-Dad was an admiral, Kennedy clan-uber rich  just to name a few. Probably the last working class President we had was Clinton (and I wasn't really a fan of his).

If we think about it, again in recent history how many presidents HAVE been liked by most Americans? I suppose 51% is most, but not a clear mandate really. Duterte wasn't "liked" by most Filipinos either at the time of the election.

Maybe working class as we Americans think about it. But his Dad was a lawyer and mayor of Danoa and provincial governor, and his Mom was a school teacher. Combine those two together and in Filipino society they were part of the elite.

Agreed, but I would use the term "politically incorrect". Which is what I believe is part of the attraction of both men to the poor working stiff in their respective countries. They seem to tell it in plain everyday language, not obfuscate with long drawn out answers that really don't answer the question..

I have voted Republican in the past and was wrong but took the lesser of two evils. Not this time. I'm not a fan of Hillary but she has done more good during here political career than Trump has in his life. She was once a Republican but has since saw the light and now is on a campaign for the oppressed. I was a Bernie fan. Still am.

I am what is called a "moderate". I an AGAINST Gay Rights, I am for the Death Penalty, I am for Equal Opportunites but against Affirmative Action. I am for a strong military but against involvement in many foreign disputes. I am for Israel but against the deal Obama cut  with Iran. I am for strong sanctions against North Korea but careful about interfering with the South China Sea problem. I am all for President Duterte and totally against Donald Trump.

Former President Clinton fixed the economy and the Bush Administration ( both) destroyed it. Obama took over  and the country was trillions of USD  in debt and with much unemployment. since then, the economy has recovered and unemployment is at a new low.

One more thing. Kennedy did more with his silver spoon than The Bush Family.

I believe in socialized medicine so I do support the  health care system we have now in the states.

Thank you for your opinions.
