OnMyWay Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 It has still been raining a lot in Subic. This morning I was glad I bought a vehicle with 500 mm wading capability. This morning they canceled school at 12 due to the heavy rain. It was really coming down for 3-4 hours straight. At the bottom of our hill, this is what I encountered at the guard gate when going to fetch my daughter and it was still like this on the way back. This is the first time it came over the banks of the adjacent canals, and it was way over! The low slung cars were pulled over to the side waiting, while SUV, 4WD, etc. were passing and going on through. Of course, several cars that should not have tried, did, and were stalled. https://goo.gl/photos/EatxvE4SXM287Ukk9
robert k Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 When I drive through any deep stuff I change the oil in the differential because the breather lets water in.
Kuya John Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 The only car I would drive in those conditions would be a Amphibian.

earthdome Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I agree. Ground clearance is at the top of my list for a car/suv/truck in the Philippines. With narrow roads a tight turning radius is also important. I don't think I would have drove into that. Years ago I got a car flooded out in a flash flood.
