Queenie O. Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 I was wondering if that popular brand Dry Gas might be sold in Ace Hardware? One caution to anyone purchasing the large coke bottles of gas sold along many road stands here. They often can contain water and added sludge. They seem cheaper but could be trouble. Not sure if you've bought gas in these bottles in the past Wayne..
robert k Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 If you could rig an old fashioned sight glass on a motorcycle, it would trap the water in your fuel before it reached the carburetor and you empty the sight glass which would be at or slightly below the level of the inlet of the carburetor periodically or when you see water in it. Of course this won't work so well with fuel injected vehicles but it worked great on my old tractor and my equally old pickup truck. My motorcycle had a carburetor drain and I would drain every once in a while. Simple motorcycles require more maintenance but the maintenance is easy, usually.

On the Fuel Filler cap there is a Rubber seal to stop fluid coming out or going into the tank at that Entrance. Once Closed ( or at least there should be and if Not that can be a problem) you can see the seal in the Photo it is Black Edited October 27, 2016 by Jack Peterson added photo
