Baas Babelaas Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Good day good people I think this maybe my first post. Let me briefly introduce myself - I reside in Shanghai, and have lived in China and Taiwan for 15 years. I have visited the PI, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, and HK. South African. My first visit to the PI was Palawan - really enjoyed that, stayed at Port Barton and loved the peacefulness. The second trip was to Boracay - I disliked the crowds, touts and commercialism. My third and fourth visits were to PG. And I liked them. First time by myself, second with my Chinese girlfriend and daughter. Chinese New Year is coming up and I'm deciding on PG or Bohol. FOr me a holiday in the PI is about relaxing - swimming on the sea, riding a bike and exploring the surrounds, learning some of the history, making friends, and RELAXING (China is a crazy place). I love PG, but have never been to Bohol. If you were me - would you try out Bohol, or go for trusty PG? Cheers BB

I have heard that Bohol is boring once you have seen the tarsiers and I have heard little about PG. Best of luck with your decision.
OnMyWay Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 For an overall experience I think Bohol offers far more than PG, but I have not been to PG in a long time. Panglao Island has many first rate beach resorts and great diving and other water sports. You can hire a car for a day or more to visit other places on the island that are very beautiful. We did not encounter any traffic on our day tour, except in Tagbilaran, but not much. There are plenty of websites dedicated to Bohol.
robert k Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I like Puerto Galera, I call it colorful because I dislike picturesque. If I really wanted to get away and relax, I would go to a resort around Pinamalayan.
JJReyes Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Stick to Puerto Galera since you have been there and liked the place. The proposed visit is for a brief, relaxing getaway. Why take a chance by going to an unknown destination.
mogo51 Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I spent some time in Bohol several years ago and enjoyed it very much, beautiful place. That was until the typhoon hit.

I can do the yachting course, explore on the bike, and do plenty of relaxing.
