Popular Post OnMyWay Posted January 7, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 7, 2017 As discussed in other threads, our fellow member Chris49 passed away yesterday due to a terrible cycling accident. I have started a fundraiser for his family on You Caring.com. The funds gathered there will go to my Paypal account. I will disburse the donations and account for all monies received. The method I use will depend on what we can get set up with a bank. https://www.youcaring.com/ginaarrowsmith-731367?fb_action_ids=10208059928876090&fb_action_types=youcaringcom%3Ashare&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=[1421836184494067]&action_type_map=["youcaringcom%3Ashare"]&action_ref_map=[] After visiting the site, you can share it on social media to spread the word. Alternatively, you can donate directly to the grandmother via Western Union. Chris' wife can't get the money from WU, thus the grandmother will get it. PM me for the details if you would like to do this.
Popular Post intrepid Posted January 7, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 7, 2017 Thanks for doing this Don and also Jack for helping. When I first went to the site my first attempt was answered with there was a problem and not able to accept and please try back later. I went back right away and my second attempt went through without an issue. I just hope our little helping can relieve some stress for them. Like others, I feel so bad for this family.

OnMyWay Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 Please be patient with PayPal, it will work. I re-posted the fund raising on FB and this time I tagged Chris and his daughter, so there will be more exposure. His daughter, Niki, is going to promote it now so we should get a lot more exposure. Please share it on FB and other social media. Someone posted on FB that Chris's wife plans a 3 week viewing. Normal here? If no bank account is available, I will probably send some money Mon/Tue via WU. As long as the amounts are not super high, I can probably use my pesos here to send them the funds. Since the fund raising is in dollars, I will use the XE.com rate on the day I send money to determine the amount of pesos.

Normal here? 10 days is the longest I have known and a week is more common among those with little cash. 3 weeks seems extravagant to the point where a person is either in extreme grief or trying to promote high status to the neighbors.

I don't know for sure it is true. It was a comment on FB.
