Indanao Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Good day: I am planning to build a house in Plaridel, Mindanao, starting April '17. Our plan is more, " Earthship " than most. Solar, with rain for water, and 3 stage Septic Tanks. Does anyone know where I could get PVC Windows with 6" frames of Double Glazed Glass? ( Then I don't need the grills.) Do they make em in Manila do you know? Some say they do, but seems only to be whatever they get directly from China. Anyone here have experience with Lime Hydrate and where to Buy it in the Philippines. It's for the Adobe on the exterior? ( My building plan is VERY unique - I believe. ) Also need 1000lbs of industrial granular salt. If you're in Mindanao ( or anyplace else in PH.) I would like to chat. Bruce B. T This is a crude drawing, the plan is only in my head - and, I can't upload the other drawings due to Max Size restrictions on this site. Have got the Bamboo 4" logs ( 500 ). Will use 6" diameter 22' logs on the corners and center of the walls, 1' into the ground encased in cement. Lumber 2"x6" horizontal top, center, and bottom inside and outside. Bamboo and logs drilled 5" from top and bottom. Stainless steel 3/8" cable will run through the Bamboo and Logs - clamped on the ends. Over the outside 2x6s Tar Paper ( roofers felt ) chicken wire ( so the Adobe has something to hang to while it dries for first layer ) . Adobe: 2 Parts earth ( from our water tank hole ) 1 Part Lime Hydrate ( powdered Lime ) , and 1/2 Part Industrial Salt, add water for intended consistency. When that dries it is like cement. This is sort of like Michael Reynolds does with his New Mexico model for Offgrid. Solar Panels (3KW - purchase broken on Ebay, will water proof the cracked glass ) , good rain gutters to UPVC pipe to three 400 gallon water tanks in the basement. Will try to leave the basement open with grates to aircondition the house to the mean 6' below ground temperature - which is 78 degrees F in the Philippines year round. Different - right?
Gratefuled Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) First, Welcome to the forun. Plaridel is north of Manila and I don't know if there is another Plaridel in Mindanao. I've been there, once, just once. I cannot offer any help with your construction material. Good Luck P.S. Correction. There is a Plaridel Mindanano. My mistake.
