Guy F. Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I'm in the Phils now. When the wife and I booked our flights we arranged our itineraries such that she would stay one month, since she can't be away from her job longer than that. I was to stay in the Phils 3 months- the reason is irrelevant. Soon after we got here I realized that I didn't want to stay here without her for more than 2 weeks. She waffled and dithered about how long she allow me to stay. When at last we got around to contacting our travel agent to change the date of my return to the US, the soonest date of return the travel agent could arrange for me was March 8th, which is 32 days after her return date. I realize the situation is probably hopeless, but does anyone know of a way for me to get back to the US sooner, hopefully without having to forfeit the cost of the return ticket? jpbago Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Call the airline yourself. Read the re-booking or cancelling rules on your ticket. Agents are useless.

Or, even better, if possible, visit the sales office of the airline. I went to the sales office of Asiana last week and it is so much easier to talk face to face. Of course, not always possible. P.S., to change my Asiana ticket would cost $100. Not sure about your airline. Edited January 30, 2017 by OnMyWay
Guy F. Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 Thank you muchly friends! That seems like most excellent advice. It's Asiana airlines. I'll find out if they have a representative at the Tagbilaran airport, and perhaps go to Cebu if I need to.
