Forum Support Popular Post Mike J Posted February 28, 2017 Forum Support Popular Post Posted February 28, 2017 And it is not just Philippine cooks. Many years ago the senior cook came to me with a story about the new guy, he called him a dumb @ss, assigned to the mess hall. As senior cook it was his job to give the guy assignments and watch over him. He wanted to make his first task simple so he told him to mix the batter for the desert cakes. He showed him where the baking supplies were kept and told him to just follow the recipe. He watches the guy for a few minutes to make sure he knows how to measure and weigh the ingredients. He tells the guy to call him when the batter is ready for the pans. After awhile he gets the call and goes over to the new guys work station and minds a large mixing bowl full of runny batter that is a pale purple color. When asked about the purple color the man replied; "The recipe called for a can of soda and the only flavor left in the machine was grape. Who do I see to get my 50 cents back?"
Gratefuled Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 "Show and Tell" is good for a couple of times. Then, it's "learning by doing" or you will be the one "doing it" forever.
