Popular Post Jollygoodfellow Posted March 1, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 1, 2017 Yes thats how its done here but why? Watching a woman struggle while trying to cut or pull of chicken from the bone was almost fascinating. I felt like getting up and saying why dont you ask for a knife but she probably wouldn't know how to use it anyway.

Nephi Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I notice the same thing when out at almost all restaurants. Maybe business owners and even the customers don't trust themselves with sharp object. I can think of no logical reason for not having knives served; especially when the meal requires one to cut the meat or other items.

JGF....answer is simple, it's much safer putting a spoon in your mouth than a knife!
Reboot Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 My spoon cuts the fried eggs just fine...the chicken is a bit more of a challenge but that's what hands and teeth are for!
Popular Post robert k Posted March 1, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 1, 2017 Spoons can be fairly rough after they have opened a few cans. I've seen several that could cut a steak.

I alway assumed eating with a spoon was something picked up during the American occupation.
SNAFU Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Truly a mystery. I've stopped setting knives at our table, as I'm usually the only one to use one.
