That is really the whole point. the PNP have no input at these Checkpoints only the LTO seem to have the jurisdiction, The PNP are usually only present to stave off attacks on LTO personnel

Even in traffic with PNP beside them, nothing happens. But what I cannot reason in my mind is why the the LTO officers do not enforce any traffic laws but maybe an illegal U-turn, sometimes. Even dangerous counterflow approaching intersections where the LTO is directing traffic. I’m referring when the drivers get tired of waiting in line and decide to pass all the stopped vehicles and cut in front of the line at the intersection. Not just the tricycles and motorcycles, but cars and trucks. The traffic officer does nothing but wave them through when he lets the traffic go. Sometimes they cause the opposing lane to back up because they are counter flowing and there is no place to go except stop and wait with a face-off. LTO officers watch and let them go. I just smile and shake my head thankful I was not sent here to teach traffic enforcement. But I do wonder if they, (the officers and public) could be taught. Oh well, off my soap box.

By the way, are the "wang, wang" being widely used again. You know.... the siren, the lights and the attitude of "don't you know who I am"? It seems the police vehicles and ambulances have a sensor built that whenever a human gets near the vehicles, the flashing lights turn on and if the vehicle is in motion the siren is on. I've never witnessed the the emergency equipment being used for anything official other than a "safety notice" while parked helping the LTO. Most of the time they are just driving from point A to B which is usually lunch.

I'm talking about privately owned vehicles with an attitude that their chit don't stink.
