Forum Support Popular Post Mike J Posted August 8, 2017 Forum Support Popular Post Posted August 8, 2017 I went to the mall here in Moalboal to buy a paint roller and tray. It was just after 12:00 noon when I arrived. Inside the mall are 10 little fast food areas/booths where you can sit down and grab a bite to eat. Four of the 10 had their lights off and a sign on the counter "Out for Lunch". Were these folks sleeping during the "Marketing 101" class? 1

Benington Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Reminds me of a village in the Dolomites wife and I visited a few years ago..frequented by tourists...many of the shops had an annoying daily 3 hour break from noon until 3pm.
robert k Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Sounds like they have a strong union. Are they hiring? I will agree to Not work for them for 10% less than the people who are Not working for them now?

A fair few about near the village. But loss of business considerable. Going back to the Philippines "eating at the desk" is something people are only willing to do here reluctantly. Maybe something to do with the need they have to eat three cooked meals a day?

Quite messy eating at your desk when every meal includes eating rice with your hands... 1

The unmessy sandwich has never really caught on here, even with people working in places like Makati. Because it's not rice? It's cold? Fillings of poor quality?
