JJReyes Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 In my opinion, O.J. was imprisoned for 9 years for the wrong crime. He was most likely guilty of double murder, but found Not Guilty by the legal system. The Las Vegas case would normally be minimal time in jail. However, the judicial system and public took their revenge by incarcerating him for a long time. The guy in the group carrying the gun went free after becoming a state witness.
MikeB Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 The sentence was within the parameters for the crime for which he was convicted. They did the best they could but he was going to get out. Let's see if he stays out. If anyone wants to feel sorry for a double murderer they need to read a few books; Marcia Clark's and Jeffrey Toobin's for starters. I prefered Clark's, "Without a Doubt". I also hope that he can stay out of prison since he's not getting any younger.
mogo51 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 There is a saying 'more than one way to catch a fish'. He was a murderer and how he was not convicted is a disgrace only the US judicial system can account for. 9 years was not long enough for 2 lives (even though he was not there for that crime), it was some poor consolation.

Frankly (and sadly) we were sort of relieved when he was acquitted. We had just gotten over the Rodney King riots, and were actually on standby to respond to threaten riots on the day the verdict was announced.
