As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I did not realize it would be a divisive topic and I am sorry for stirring some people's convictions.

But since it has developed a life of its own I should update the result and consequences.  I did obtain some Amoxicillin as Jack mentioned earlier in the thread.  I am already feeling the desired results so its either an amazing co-incidence or I was right.  Of course it must be the former 

I am a fan of the KISS principle.  It suggests that the simplest solution is often the best and should be tried first.  It seems that many other members here are not.  Some of us westerners have a way of making things complicated and I realize it is one reason I fell in love with the Philippines.  In most ways, they embrace the KISS principle.

Good morning Jack, No disrespect was intended, I know you are very concerned about one of your pet dogs.

My one liner was a lighter reflection on what Sonjack /  Kev said, a pun.

I understand that Vet's use the same treatments for pet's as a Doctor would use for Human's, however I would like to think that

the hygiene in the preparation was to the same standards as required by the Medical Profession for human consumption.

I dislike taking any drug...pain killer, antibiotic  steroid, or the ones for type II diabetics, high cholesterol and the other 20th-21st century aliments.  Now I use two doctors, an MD and a DO too test find and discuss what they think would help me.  I do this with over the counter meds also...including aspirin and ibuprofen. Usually by the time I'm in for a cold..it's over if it is a viral infection, well the antibiotics don't work for that anyway.  There are a few drugs which I realise I will always need, blue diamond shaped pills come to mind, even these can be reduced in dosage and frequency with diet and proper motivation.

Thank you.  Within a few days of taking the antibiotic that I self-prescribed I was right as rain.  And rain it has been doing.  Still going.  DelugeMaguete is still wet, but I am well.  Thanks for the good wishes.

I agree with the KISS method, when then wife makes spicy food it reacts with me during the night and I get a bellyache. Cure: bare the belly, lick her index finger and put a cross on the bare belly, then drag the two PI children out of bed ( doesn't matter what time of night it is,) and get them to do the same, embarrassment generally fixes it before they get into the room.  Girl 19, boy 17,  worth a try if the situation arises.

Glad that you're feeling better Dave. I feel that I'm a pretty good judge of my body, and at at times on what meds I need for certain maladies that occasionally occur too.  So far this has worked for me.

Dave while happy for your recovery I shall not go into your treatment as on the other side of the court here.

How ever must pull you up on your last comment, for me with all the burocacy and complications which seem to hound me.....Personally I find Philippines to be one of the most complicated places I have ever lived. Even the simplest of tasks seem some how to become complicated. Oops going off topic......
