Motor Vehicle Headlights

One thing I've never understood is how some vehicles have dark tinting all over the front windscreen as well as the side and rear windows or possibly with just a small square removed in front of the driver (at least in some areas of Mindanao).

We hired a van a while back for a trip and it came with this 'feature'.

Yes it makes daytime driving cooler but at night... scary even with the headlights on.
