A little milestone!

Our daughter Katy, 3 years and 8 months, started at a pre-school here in Subic Freeport Zone today.  We like the school and the teachers a lot, but it is not cheap at about p133,000 per 10 month year, 3 hours a day, 5 days a week.  We are hoping that she will only go here for 1.5 years, and then she will start Kindergarten at our local SPED-G school, which is almost free.

We had an early Christmas present today.  We were not paying the exact rate I quoted above.  My daughter started late and the above rate includes a large annual fixed fee which made the per day rate for the rest of the year very high.  They offered us a p685 per day rate for the rest of the year, paid weekly, and that was fine.

Today they said they overcharged us!  The p685 rate includes some one on one ESL, and my daughter does not need it.  So the rate is only p475 per day!  They even gave me a refund for last week!  That is a big difference, p205 per day!  I wish I could pay the extra p205 and have one on one Tagalog for her.

We are considering putting little Leila, 1.5 years, in the school, but we will wait a while.  She loves the school and she is super sociable, but the minimum session is 2.5 hours, and that is a bit long right now.  Maybe in 6 months.
