This article kinda changed my mind about Samsung although tempting as they have a sale. So thanks to Dave and jack going same way conventional daikin. Yes, that guy turned me off to Samsung too, but I was on the fence about going inverter / non-inverter. Inverters make sense but it only takes one repair out of warranty to wipe out a years worth of energy savings. If you buy a top brand like Daikin or Carrier, you pay more but you get a better product. They must have dealt with the circuit board problems or they would not remain top brands long. An outdoor unit must be able to resist weather, bugs, lizards, monkeys and cats. Our cat gets a lot of naps on top of our outdoor units.
