Popular Post stevewool Posted January 3, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 3, 2018 The tin opener is a great thing and many years ago I can remember my mum and dad opening tins with a knife if they could not find the tin opener. Now we have 3 tin openers and one is still brand new and one is a little used and this one you have to get it just right then press down hard and turn the wheel. So yesterday I caught Emma and not for the first time holding a big Sharp knife on top of This tin and banging down peicing this tin then cutting the lid open, well after i took a few steps back for safety reasons I shouted what are you doing and why not use the tin opener, well if looks could kill " I am glad I took a few steps back". After showing her this wonderful new invention the tin opener AGAIN she just carried on like nothing had happened, the knife well it won't be cutting in a straight line anymore. 1

Queenie O. Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Old habits die hard I guess. The quality of many can openers here is not always that reliable, so maybe the old tried and true knife style is the most common method by default.
TunaT Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 I have a Chef's Classic can opener that I bought here almost 8 years ago. I use it daily so I'd say we have used it over 1,000 times in that time period. It still works like new. We rinse it after ever use. No sign of rust what-so-ever. It has nice heavy rounded handles with rings on the ends, I suppose for hanging it up. There are no other identifying part numbers. It works great and I'd easily expect to get at least another 10 years out of it. You get what you pay for. ( most times anyhow). I bought it at Hypermart or perhaps Robinson's.
Jollygoodfellow Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 A few weeks back I seen Joy trying to open a can with a knife, hey I said. This is what this is for. Oh she said. She then posted it on Facebook. 3
