Popular Post Queenie O. Posted January 9, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 9, 2018 This week we've had a string of sunny days, which are welcome after it seems like the longest rainy season ever. I actually like the breezy cooler days of rainy season, but this year I'm looking forward to sunnier days which bring more blooms to the garden. Even a little steady sun can start some established plants into bloom. I haven't posted any plants in a while, so I thought you might like to see this pair. This bromeliad out back in my garden, is called False pineapple. It was not grown from planting a pineapple crown, but the small pineapples are edible. I'm waiting to see how big they get.. When the fruits first come out they are covered with tiny purple flowers! Here's to more sunny days!

Any nice nurseries in Manila with a good selection of plants and accessories? I don't know of anyplace in Manila only Cebu. Contact Philippine Horticultural Society Quezon City. I've belonged to their facebook group for 15+ years and find them a nice helpful group. I'm sure they will clue you in. They do classes and visit nurseries and farms.
expatuk2014 Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Its a bit far from Manila but we buy most of our plants from places on the National Highway between Los Banos and Santa Cruz theres many places selling plants of all kinds one even sells puppies ! Look for Jollibees on the right as you leave Los Banos then on both sides of the road you will start to see plants for sale theres many places selling so you can haggle ! , if your into Orchids there is a Orchid place on the just off of Slex on the Tagatay road
