Popular Post Gator Posted January 20, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 20, 2018 It was mentioned recently in another thread about getting a 59 day tourist visa directly upon arrival at the airport in Manila. As I recently did just that I’d thought I’d update the process. My flight arrived around midnight and I proceeded directly to the BOI office. Upon entering the immigration area it’s located at the far end, off to the right of the booths (pair of grey double doors). The duty officer took my passport, scanned it and ran a computer check. She then asked if I had about 3,200 pesos to pay for it or would I need to be escorted to the main concourse to get money from an ATM machine or exchange foreign currency for pesos at a money changer. Having pesos I gave her the 3,200 pesos. She requested I take a seat and wait her while she went to the cashier. She said she’d return with change and a receipt, which she promptly did. She then escorted me directly to the front of the line - actually she brought me to the booth reservated for diplomats, crew and PWD’s. After taking my passport, immigration declaration form and the receipt the officer in the booth took my photo as well as an electronic finger print (done for all passengers now). After entering some data into her computer she stamped my passport and entered an expiration date 59 days from my date of entry. The whole process took just under 20 minutes and cost 3,032.50 pesos. By the time I entered the baggage claim area baggage was just starting to roll out. I should note that the above amount includes a 500 peso “express fee”, that I was one of the first passengers off the plane and that I was the only one going thru the process of getting an extension, which may have helped speed up the process. 4
bows00 Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 I just got my 59 day Visa by visiting the Philippine Consulate office here in Hawaii and paid only $30 (~1500 Peso). The only inconvenience was that I had to return the next day to pick up my passport (with the visa inserted). I got it before my trip because I didn't want to take any chances.

I was unsure of the visa process. i guess it stems from my lack of experience in this area. i didn't want to take the chance of being denied on the plane without it. Simple. Its common Knowledge that one must have an onward ticket. Nothing more but onward to any country in the world and no it does not have to be dated within the 30 days so no matter which airline you are using you are good to go. Freebie Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 I arrived in PAL terminal the other day. Asked if I could get the 59 visa, and the lady superviro said " do u have 203 hours to wait " ? I replied that it used to be no more than 15 minutes previously. She stated it was now 2.3 hours and said if i was staying in Makati I should just do it there rather in airport. Seems they arent interested to process in that terminal any more

Maybe they were on their lunch break LOL... or perhaps 'the' person that processes the paperwork that shift was off that day and the next shift started in 2 hours? 1
Onemore52 Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Yes, when I arrived at terminal 1 on Feb 14 I was told the process would take 2 to 3 hours, on the previous trip in I was told the computer was down and so couldn't be done.
