Popular Post OnMyWay Posted March 31, 2018 Popular Post Posted March 31, 2018 A reminder to everyone to take care of yourself and seek medical attention when needed, sooner rather than later. I knew that our neighbor had been ill and undergoing treatment. My wife got an update from the maids and he is in Singapore undergoing treatment for prostate cancer, and the prognosis is not good. Apparently it has spread and he probably only has a few months to live. Such a shame as he only 29 years old and a nice guy. Despite his family being very wealthy, he always struck me as very down to earth and genuinely nice. Wierd. I thought I had posted the above (in italics) a few months ago, but when I search for it to give an update, I didn't find it. So just now when I opened a new topic here in Health and Hospitals, that text was saved there. I guess I forgot to post it, or perhaps good karma was in play! So here is the update. He seems to be a survivor at this point, and returned from his chemo in Singapore looking healthy, but bald, as expected! I just had a long chat with him and he is very upbeat and happy. I guess a life threatening event can do that for you! I'm glad the maid's prognosis was wrong! However, that bastard is the one that stole our future maid, C, from us! (see other topic). He bought the house she was working in and offered her the same salary we were going to give her, to stay on as caretaker of the empty house. At our house, she would have 3X the work. A no brainer for her. If he was not a cancer survivor, I would kick his ass! Just a bit of humor, of course! He is a good guy and we are very happy it is going well for him! 9

Expats here tend to burn out faster than old farts in first world countries, but oh what a ride!
