Is Singapore fun to visit for a few days? I am looking at options that accept Filipino passports without too much headache (and aren't too far away).

Yep its a good place to visit for a few days.  be prepared to be shocked at how expensive everything is though.

We've been to S'pore a couple of times. The array of eateries and styles of food is tremendous. Sightseeing is fair to middlin'. The prices can be high but not as bad as Hong Kong.

What struck both of us the last time was the number of rudish Chinese tourists. S'pore is a land of queues, lines. Everyone lines up for everything and most people are very patient. Chinese tourists, however, will cut in the queue, especially ones for taxis.

Just flown to Wellington, NZ, with Singapore Airlines. Silk Air from here to Singapore then SA via Canberra and vice versa on the way back. Price is as good as anyone else, layover at Changi is manageable and if you're going to be stuck at any airport that's the one to be stuck at. Excellent service as usual. Even managed the no cost exit flight option thanks to a very good travel agent in Wellington.

Yes although the area with the recliners is like a back packers paradise and one can forget to ever obtain a chair let alone a recliner.

My question would be for an arrival at 9pm and departure 12 hours later is it worth while lining for a taxi and have a few hours at a hotel or just rough it in perhaps the worlds best airport. Transit hotel is always fully booked in spite of the price.

Well if it were me and I had a 12 hour layover I'd go and annoy my daughter and stay for free :mocking: but if you haven't got one of those I'd go for the cheapest hotel I could find in the Changi/East Coast/Siglap or similar areas. The food courts are fairly cheap for eating and drinking and there are some interesting bars if your tastes run that way.......

Would love to get to know your daughter for somewhere to stay. Joke.

Anyway I find even a 3 hour layover at Changi is long to me. I book my flights on the quickest way to point A and B but of course that would depend where you are comming from.
