I have Globe wireless modem "broadband".  I get 50 Gb a month for 1299 - but no top off available.  I tried to buy one and it would not process. When I asked customer service they said 'way out' where I live (20 km from city center) there is no top off allowed?

I know Globe frequently change their plans so that might explain you having 50Gb and me 100GB for the same price.  As for no top up (data boost) - seems strange.  I just call Globe hotline and (after a lengthy wait) ask for a 99php data boost and within 3-4 hours it's done.  I'm not in the city centre of Iloilo either.

If I lived in the city, I could get 100 Gb for the same price i am paying for 50.  As for the distance... it does not make sense to me either.  Manila tries to upsale me, then has to cancel it because it is not available where I live.  If there was any other provider I would drop Globe in a heartbeat.  Welcome to the Philippines ha ha :tiphat:

I'm about 10km from the city but in a large subdivision so I guess we have reasonable infrastructure.  I do know that each 'feeder box' has a limited capacity so it might be that the one you're connected to is already full.

From what i've heard PLDT are just as bad in our area so it might be a frying pan and fire situation if you moved ISP

How can anyone in the Philippines afford this?  I'm surprised there is even a market for this here.

You want one of the SuperSurf promos, if you get a multiple day version the 1st 1GB of data is full speed and then it is throttled until midnight when it will automatically reset to full speed for that day. Data tip for watching youtube videos, I have my quality set at 360p which is still fine for youtube even on my 65" TV. Saves a lot of data vs watching in HD. Here is the link to find out more about SuperSurf and the options available:

Don't get me started on PLDT! They once responded to a complaint of mine on Twitter with a message filled with puns. I'm convinced that their Twitter help is actually a bot coded to placate customers with meaningless positivity until you respond a set number of times which alerts a human (which will be no more help than the bot).

Darn. I got myself started on PLDT.

Good question.  On a positive note, I  find myself going out way more often for the WiFi hot spots.  And yes, I find it therapeutic as it forces me to cut back on my porno.  But on the negative side, I find myself overly malibog throughout the day (ha!).

I must have phrased my reply incorrectly because I am sure you are doing the right thing.  I meant what kind of tenant would do that.  it is the owner or property manager's job to provide wifi in short-term rental places.

I must of wed it wong :whistling:

I had wifi installed in my apartelle. I was there for 6 weeks. But I needed reliable wifi. And not just for fun. It was a work connection.
