There is a financial incentive for the US Schools. Any child on meds is considered special needs and then the school can get more money to educate this "special need" child. They think everything should be quick and get bored easily with ordinary stuff. We try to limit their exposure but it is not easy, especially when the weather is bad. We noticed with our 7 month old that she is drawn to a screen like a magnet. We have to try and hide them from her or she will go after them with a single minded persistence which is rivaled only by her bottle.
