Tragedy strikes my wife's family, 14 dead as jeepney crashed down a ravine

Tragedy struck my wife's family Tuesday when the brakes on a jeepney failed on a mountain road resulting in it crashing down into a deep ravine. 14 dead and many injured including my wife's aunt and four cousins of her father. I am sure I have met some who passed as I have been down the same road and went to a wedding in their village and they may have attended our wedding. We have already sent money to help with funeral expenses.

I read about that on the day but never would have thought that such tragedy had a connection to our members. Condolences to the families.

Such a risky thing, overloaded old vehicles and poor maintenance but at least the goverment is finally addressing it. Wish they would be harder on bus companies too.
