Snowy79 Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 I'm looking to ship a Chow Chow approx 25kg from Oriental Mindoro to Cebu. Can anyone recommend a decent service provider or is it a case of accompanying the dog? These dogs are sensitive to the heat so I'd like a profession serviçe. Viking Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 After seeing how they normaly treat animals in Philippines I would not trust someone else to take care of my dog. I cant help to wonder, why getting a heat sensitive dog in a tropical country??
Joey G Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 PAL won't fly chow-chows.... check their website... so it's gonna be a ferry... check Pets 2 Go... but still risky for that breed I'd say.
bastonjock Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 I think that you will have to keep a chow chow in an airconned room , they take a lot of work to keep those coats in top condition , they are not a popular breed even in the UK , they are hard work . I cant offer any advice on shipment ,
sonjack2847 Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 You should check if you need a vets certificate. My friend ships rabbits all over the Phills and he has to get one for each animal.

Chow chows tend to be plodders and the house is large, air conned and there's cool parts in the garden as we live up in the mountains. The new home is also in the mountains. Admittedly not my choice of a breed to have.
jimeve Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Needs to be caged, wife takes hers to Bohol from Negros Oriental. No need for certificates for the dog. I should think it will need someone to escort it.
Arizona Kid Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I hate the way people treat dogs here. The local dogs, or azkals rarely get the love and affection that they deserve. They are treated as more like property than pets. Then comes the owners of imported dogs walking them around the subdivision so other people will think they are rich. It's sickening but that's the way it is. 2
Viking Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 Just out of curiosity, is the dog 3 legged?? Last time I was in your area, I saw a person walking in WB with a Chow chow that only had 3 leggs. At first I just noticed that it was limping a little but when looking more closely I saw that it actually was missing one leg, but it could still run and play with other dogs at the beach, amazing!! I could never run if I only had one leg, it is hard enough with two legs

That is OK for the dog at the moment but when Christmas comes and another is removed for the BBQ the running days are over.
