I cant comment on Sweden,  but our government has been for years dipping their hands into the pension pot and using it for other things

It's been used by both left wing and right wing governments

The problem is now that they are running out of money to pay pensions

All of the things you say apply to Sweden too

I have no idea how they will be able to track your exits and entry's from the UK once you are of pensionable age , unless you are of poor health .

In Australia all new passport have a chip so I'm sure other countries do or will too so that chip has all the info of when one comes and goes.

I'd say it also applies to most countries with a well-developed welfare system - simply speaking governments spend more money than they earn so something has to give at some point.

I wasn't aware that the UK had a pension pot, just a general taxation pot.

Great topic here Dave

Fact is that Big brother has been watching us for years!

Every new British Passport has a chip/ memory card just like a mobile phone and you can be tracked down wherever you may be, provided there is a signal available.

The UK has an agreement with Philippines which at present allows UK citizens the privilege of a full pension with increases, however that is not the case in other Countries if you chose to live abroad.

If you are planning to leave the UK for more than an extended trip you are obliged to inform your Doctor and as stated you can lose your right's to NHS treatment. Just as now you have to register your spouse on her/his arrival in UK and they have to pay a fee in advance for medical cover or they cannot facilitate the use of the NHS for free.

Hospitalization is a privilege within the EU for Brits, but will end with Brexit!

It's interesting and funny also in some cases to see these replies, it's what makes this forum what it is so well done.

All of my Canadian buddies who are still working past age 70 because the "cannot afford to retire" are thrilled that I may have to return home.  People hate to see someone beat the system and live the dream.  Crab mentality exists in Canada.

"Buddies" who needs friends like that Dave, or was it an expression?
