Hector Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Hello friends, it's a little over a week since I arrived to make this hot country my home. Recently retired and in love with a Filipina now reside in Cebu City, originally from Massachusetts USA. One quick question after my brief introduction is what type of residence status is the best for someone like me, retired and in a few years will be on Social Security. Living off my pension and savings. Thanks in advance.

Welcome Perhaps since you are new to the Philippines stay on a tourist visa which is your only choice unless you get married or go for SSRV which there are topics on in the visa section. Popular Post Guy F. Posted April 16, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 16, 2019 WELCOME Hector. Stay for at least 2 months before making a commitment. I sure as Hell wouldn't live in Cebu city. Air too dirty, traffic too slow. Visit the countryside and Bohol. Remember a most important rule of thumb is to live at least 2 hours away from your in-laws.
