I'm like you, use it, trust it and sign up is available on line. Use their chat box and they'll steer you in the right direction, plenty of cheap Micky Mouse knock offs, be careful. Also, when I asked it can be taken from country to country.

I use McAfee, I found it to be quicker and had less overhead than Nortons.

I use AVG or Kapersky.  I stopped using Norton back when it required you to have a constant internet connection for updates.  I found that out back when I was using dialup and Norton would open a dialup connection without authorization.  Just like McAfee used to do(or maybe still does).

Avast free and Malware bytes free is what Iv'e been using here in the Phills since 2002. Only one virus got through. Tried Norton once when I was still in the US but it took up too much memory so I went in another direction. I've tried the paid anti virus companies like Eset Nod and Kaspersky and have found that they don't do any better than the free ones. They just advertise that they do.:hungover_40_anim_gif:

I have not used McAfee or Nortons in at least 10 years.  Kaspersky and ESET Nod are the best, according to my tech friends. Kind of funny the best antivirus is from Russia ha ha *but back in my hacking days, the best work was also in Russia).  Most guys I know here just use the free Avast.  I hear it is pretty good.  I get Nod from my ex, at her discounted price (computer store manager).

I use the free Avast with no problems. I used to use the paid version.

well the main thing that sort of pisses me off about norton is.. you CANT take it country to country.. as i have found out.. this is the deal. i installed norton security on my laptop before i left US.. and i still had my license code with me. i decided to do a full reset on my laptop as i had a lot of crap on it and wanted a fresh start..  so i wiped it clean and reinstalled norton.. and when it came time to activate it again. it said unable to active for this region. meaning.. i bought it in the US and since i am now in the philippines that come no longer works. i stil had a license for 5 addition devices..  so i am screwed.. so i guess i have to find a "philippine" version LOL.. to use. such a shame. it was working on my laptop all this time. but when i needed to reinstall and activate.. its not in the geographic area i bought it.. hows that for a kick in the pants.. their online support was useless.. told me to return it to the place i bought it for refund and get the proper version.. i said you want me to fly back to the US and return it?? i love the product but this has been a damn nightmare. and.. i dont know if i buy it online ifit will work here in the phililppines or not. what a mess.
