 I think it can be safely said that the Elite of the PI will never survive in the Provinces if they can get this Sick? from supposedly Good Food 

How sick would they get if they only had what the majority of Poorer people ate

She may not have eaten. At 90, appetite and sleep are often disrupted. If she did eat, she may not have had the food served to the guests. Being "royalty" she might have her food - even the same dishes - prepared separately (perhaps to higher standards).

It's fun to speculate but doesn't really serve any purpose.

Possibly done by the cooks who may have not been fans of the Marcos dictatorship... but not done by Imelda. Just saying that it’s a possibility.

In my view if around 240 got sick out of over 1000 people then its possibly one part of the meal that was not good or a batch and not all otherwise everyone should be sick.  Might have been some of the chicken stew was a few days old where the rest might have been cooked on the same day as the event.
