Maxwell Hotel is an excellent choice. Prices are very reasonable, the hotel is new and the staff are professional and curtious. I Highly Recomend this place. The Maxim Resturant is a good to eat.

Have you stayed at this property yourself? I'm looking for a place for a couple of weeks in Feb and I like the fact it's new, although there are less expensive alternatives. Thanks

Yes Mike, I stayed there in June and in Sept. My friend and his wife stayed there 7 months. You will really like the hotel.

Price for me is always a factor so adding that and the amenities that it offers would be nice for those of you that post recommendations. Thanx

The biggest problem with that is that price changes all the time with these places, so best to do an Internet search and see what they are getting currently for the place people recommend and maybe lock in a price before your visit. Recently this hotel was running a special for p1500 a night and when my friend got there at around 1 AM they told him they did not have any of those rooms available even after he had reserved one, so they suckered him up to the next price. Now had that been me then I probably would have went back out in the street and gotten a cab and heading off to the next one or waited until the next morning and spoken to the manager and if that did not work then left and found another hotel. Another thing to ask for is weekly or monthly discounts since they will often discount for cash and a long stay but you have to ask.  Bait and switch is common in the Philippines, so my advice is to stick to your guns and you will usually get it at the lower price. Check out the Maxwell Hotel and prices HERE

The Grand Prix econotel is cheap. But the rooms are so tiny, you would not believe, the walls so thin but you would not believe. The breakfast so bad, you would not eat. The sheets so cheap, you can see through the material even when it is bound four times. The window non existent. The air con malfunctioning. However, I think it is the cheapest hotel in Fuente Osmena, at 990 peso when I was there. Whilst I love cheap, you get so much less that I would not return. I m surprised the rooms are legal. Staff are ok. Seems to be overrun with noisy filipino students much of the time.

We also have a number of hotels and pension houses listed HERE and one PENSIONNE DE PORTUGAL was only around p12,000 a month including cable, aircon, hot water and even wifi, so if a person wants inexpensive then this one might work for them.

I totally agree as I did a visit there just after they opened and the area is very noisy .

I stayed at the Maxwell for 3 days in January. Nice and good staff but nothing special. I also stayed at the Montebello which is more expensive but really nice and less than 1 block from tthe mall. Also stayed at the Holiday Spa in the same area as Montebello. Great staff great gym and pool and just try to get a room with a window. My favorite was Summit Circle right on top of Robinsons Mall. Great staff and location. We had a deal of buying 2 days get 3rd day free. Best part was taking elevator right to the mall.
