I always wondered about that. To me, they just look weird... But then I aged (never grew up) through the US muscle car era when everything with muscle was 2-door and that undoubtedly affected my preference. If I could go back in time to get my fav. car it would be my 69 Chevy Malibu 2 door, 2 tone green vinyl top, mags, huge tires on the back, smaller ones in the front. Nothing special under the hood but I had headers (illegal) and glass packs that made it sound good. Owned it in 78. 2

graham59 Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 (edited) I wonder if it still had the original Triumph V8 (2 Dolomite engines 'stuck' together) Steve, or the popular after-market replacement Rover V8 . Here's my friend's lovely 'Concours' condition 'The Graduate' Alfa. Brought it to show me. He had an equally lovely Jensen Interceptor before that. . When I was young and broke in the 70's, I was always craving to buy a TR 6 or a Stag, and they were actually quite a good deal for a while. In our beach area, I was quite envious of a few guys that drove around in their TR 6's. Stags were much rarer in the area. Eventually, my first car was a Fiat 124 spyder convertible. Paid $400 for it. I never did have a working top on it and it spent most of the time in my parent's driveway, broken down. My dad finally paid to repair it and made me sell it! 1

(Had one myself for a while, but 11 mpg was a bit much. ) They (later models) used the 440 Chrysler motor of course... as per the Dodge Charger and other amazing muscle cars. Here... calling at my place to take me to a classic car show in England.. but some nice American machinery there too. Spot the TR6 next to the gorgeous 50s Vette. . Kuya John Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 (edited) With so many replies and such a lot of interest, curiosity got the better of me! Having never owned a brand new car, marriage and family being my priority, I started to lose interest in cars other than for their practicality, however if there's one car i would of loved to have owned it would of been this one! You would be lucky to find one in original condition under a £100.000 these days My first car added a 1952 model Wolsely 1500 cc Edited July 26, 2019 by Kuya John My first owned car 2
