It will work with some other woods but it needs to be a dense hardwood of some type to even come close. That's the easy part... mastering circular breathing is the hardest bit about learning to play IMHO

Heeb Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 I've installed bamboo flooring twice, I think the quality of the product makes a big difference, bamboo is bamboo yes but how it's processed by the manufacturing company makes a big difference since it's glued and compressed and if the bamboo was still green when they manufactured it you will have problems as it dries. The first install I did was a nail in tongue and groove and it was a pain to install, the tongues wood split whether I used a pneumatic or hand nailer, the other install was floating. The first one was too soft and anything scraping it or if someone walked on it with high heals it would dent very easily, the second install started splitting between the strips, because I'm so cheap I went with discounted bamboo both times....big mistake. Try running the back of your thumbnail on the surface of the bamboo to see if you can make a groove, if so it's too soft, and check a bunch of pieces to see if they are splitting anywhere. 2

As I wrote before, supposedly the darkening makes the bamboo lose about 30% of its strength. But you sound very pleased with what you got? It looks very nice. Forum Support Tommy T. Posted July 30, 2019 Author Forum Support Posted July 30, 2019 @Old55 I see you are online now? Before I make a mistake, is it okay for me to post photos of some wood flooring from a hardware store that also shows the prices for the products? Thanks!
