We are getting dinged on many things due to delivery fees...

There is not a lot of traffic once you leave Mintal heading north toward Bukidnon... But there is a brand new Gaisano mall to the south of the town and another huge mall under construction just adjacent to Mintal... Traffic in the town is already a zoo most of the time and I hate to see what will happen when the new mall is completed. So many tricycles and nitwit Fortuner drivers! I think that it will not create to big a problem traffic wise , the plots and houses will be beyond the budget of most

It will take quite a while for something like that to really develop. However, I sure do see a lot of expensive cars tooling around this city. Admittedly, most or all are paid for with huge bank loans, but still... Some day they may pay off their loans then get even bigger loans for their McMansions here...?

I'm with you all the way on traffic ,I spent 16 years driving in and out of central London , I sat down one day and calculated the amount of time I spent in traffic ,it amounted to about 2 years of my life , it was a sobering thought

I bought a 700 SM lot just a couple of years ago and its doubled, and it's not near Davao or some other big city. Its Tandag, Surigao Del Sur.
stevewool Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 10 years ago a nice plot on Bohol was great but Ems had other plans , now really a place to call our home is out of the question with the prices as they are, yes compared to other parts of the world you can get a great lot and house for your money , but I am getting older and who wants to look after such a large house and garden at that age.
Forum Support Popular Post Tommy T. Posted January 26, 2020 Author Forum Support Popular Post Posted January 26, 2020 We went to the home site yesterday. Progress seems very quick now, finally. Lots of walls going up. Window sizes and locations are being finalized and just a few small alterations here and there. Maybe 12 guys working... We brought them two big pancit orders three loaves of bread, some Cokes and a Tanduay. The electrician is there every day and keeps installing more wires and cables, and even the electrical panel main buss bar is in place. We made a rather large change by moving the ground floor CR to a revised location outside the main house structure in order to keep some doors from aligning (L has a problem with that) and to open up the living room area to the kitchen, with just the open, wood step staircase in the way. She wants to be able to see me cooking in the kitchen while she relaxes in the living room (watching Tagalog TV and playing with FaceBook!). That's okay, because she cooks often for me too when I watch the History Channel or National Geographic. The boys were quickly building walls around the roof-deck terrace and that was not really part of the original plan, plus it looks a bit weird - too high a solid wall. So they will knock it down to just two rows of hollow block topped with steel bar work and then a wide stainless rail - at about 1.2 meters high. It will be wide enough for my San Mig Light and the bottle of Tanduay when we stand at the rail and survey the still-undeveloped land around us (at least for a while... we will take what we can get!). There will be a partially enclosed (1.4 meter high surrounding wall) laundry area with a large sink and a dirty kitchen outside of that. So L can prepare all the smelly fish or durian or whatever she likes OUTSIDE(!) without affecting the inside of the house. I will also set up a barbecue next to that so we can burn whatever strikes our appetites upon an evening. Ground and second floor walls. dining area inside window of ground floor, "library" or computer/guest room on second floor. Library windows clearly shown on second floor and Master Bedroom with terrace and inset area for terrace table. Main breaker panel with buss bar. They already "plastered" this wall and did a very neat job - we are impressed.
