OnMyWay Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 Anybody following this one? This will be a disaster for the ASEAN games if it follows this path. 2

Popular Post Arizona Kid Posted November 29, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 29, 2019 If this one keeps on track that the forecasters indicate..I'm gonna have a hell of a time. It's going to pass right over Manila. I'm close enough to Manila that I can see that the landing gear is down on aircraft's that are on the approach to landing at the airport. I love it though. I go outside with my dogs to help them get through it even during the strongest winds. It's exhilarating.

You got that right! What a mess here in Subic! All the preps last minute! And this storm is currently tracking right through Manila then through Bataan to Subic! I'm going outside now to make a list of things that need prep. @Gary D
Popular Post Jake Posted November 29, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 29, 2019 Yeah, it was pretty exhilarating. I use to live in the Cavite area (south of Manila) along the coast of Manila Bay. It was interesting to see knee high brown water gushing in and out during low and high tides. I lost count on how many bio-hazards (diapers, dead animals) were running pass my elevated front yard. And with a couple shots of tequila, I use to go windsurfing during those times. Puerto Galera (south of Batangas) was one of the best place to scream across flat water, while holding on for dear life and not get airborne. Thinking back, I would never do that again. 11 3

I thought I was crazy howling at the moon, but I'm pleased some-one else enjoys things in the night sky, try giving them a howl it relives all pent up emotions. 1 1
Popular Post stevewool Posted November 29, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 29, 2019 Just landed , yesterday I think, lost track of time and the will to live after 25 hours of travelling, a typhoon you say is heading towards Manila, well at the moment we are on the ninth floor, so flooding should not be a problem, think positive , I may get some great pictures. 8

Gary D Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 I cycled around the airport this morning and came across a workcrew frantically welding and cutting all things to do with what looks to be the canoeing venue. Certainly wasn't anything like ready to use.

The sport of windsurfing and Hobie Cat sailing was very addictive for me. When you start to see whitecaps (around 12 knots of wind) dancing across some relatively flat water, especially around Puerto Galera island group to subdue the swells......I'm off for some speed and more speed. Do I crash and burn? Yep, many times but I get back up by using the sail to pull me up (water start) and then go screaming across that water once again. Of course I take a couple shots for antifreeze in my blood and to build up the courage to be stupid enough to go out during typhoon season. And of course, at my age now -- no more windsurfing. I might pull my back out, letting go of a "good one". 4
