Chariskeith Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 I'm planning to move to the Philippines in the very near future. One issue that concerns me is whether I will be allowed to bring my much loved Chinchillas with me to Cebu city. Are the regulations identical to those for cats and dogs?-or are there separate rules for exotic animals?. I know that an import license is required, and a health certificate signed by a vet.I will be moving from the UK.

It's very difficult when we are planning to live abroad and we have pets at home. Considering whether to bring our pets with us or not can be a really tough decision but sometimes we have to think with our head and not our heart, I don't know anything about Chinchillas but I am sure they are not going to adjust well in this climate. I used to have ferrets in the UK but eventually decided to not bring them here, now I have been here for a couple of years I know I made the right decision. Best advice I could give you is to re home them in the UK. From the net.... 'If you live somewhere that gets hot or humid at any time of the year, you need to make sure your chinchilla doesn't overheat. Chinchillas don't have sweat glands, so if the temperature or humidity get too high, they can't cool themselves down and become very susceptible to heatstroke and other heat related problems.' Guy F. Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 You may be planning to rely on air conditioning to keep your chinchillas comfortable. You should reconsider, given the unreliable electricity throughout the Philippines.
