I thought I would share some of the Drone Videos I took when on my last trip to my home in Philippines. I had a day of driving around my area and found some stunning locations. I feel very lucky to have such beauty so close by. Hope they don't bore you.

Nice!  What is the flower place and the river place?

When we were in NZ my BIL (also visiting) was watching a lot of you tube video reviews of drones, because he wanted to by one.  So I saw a lot of reviews.  He ended up buying a mini-drone on boxing day, made by one of the top drone makers.  Don't remember the name.  It is mainly for indoor fun as it has a very short range.  Sooner or later, I'm sure I will buy one but I want a good outdoor one.

The flower place is called Nagtipunan and the river is the same place in Quirino Province. Both lovely.
I look forward to more exploring in May.

Can't go wrong with DJI, if drones were cars and this was the 1920s then DJI would be Ford and the rest of the brands are struggling to compete.

A good starting point is the Mavic or Mavic mini but honestly the Phantom range are the de facto choice.

ĎJI was the one he was raving about and I think the mini he bought is a DJI with another name on it.

We saw a lot of Mavic in stores and got a chuckle from it cuz SIL is Mavic.  Mary Victoria.

Triple LIKE Paul.  Thank you!  Perhaps you can start another thread about buyer's guide to this wonderful hobbie.  Can one just go for the latest model (the price is probably above my paygrade) or do you need to take baby steps as you crash and burn along the way?

It would be a pleasure to share what I know, I use a Parrot Bebop 2 Drone which has the option for first person view through a pair of goggles. I don’t use that feature at the moment as I like to see the Drone itself.

The Bebop 2 is very durable with a good camera and stability and very easy to fly. You can use your mobile, iPad or tablet or the controller it comes with. I bought mine in Abu Dhabi and took in ,my suitcase to Philippines.

I am still learning myself but really enjoy seeing a different perspective on locations and making the videos after. Great for exploring your area.

One really cool feature is you can pre-program a flight using a GPS map so you just take off and the drone does the rest. You can also program it to follow you if you are cycling or running. I haven’t tried that yet.

Keep you updated.
