Forum Support Old55 Posted April 4, 2020 Forum Support Posted April 4, 2020 (edited) Now that everyones locked down for the duration what new or interesting things to keep oneself busy or otherwise occupied? Anyone else besides Tommy and I cooking and baking more? I also enjoy Max Fleischer cartoons on Youtube. Suggested by a comment from Man of the cold land. stevewool Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Ems is baking loads from meat pies to doughnuts and I must admit I have to be very careful with putting to much weight on. We are looking at painting the attic room through out . I am looking at buying a light box for my photography too.
Forum Support scott h Posted April 4, 2020 Forum Support Posted April 4, 2020 As we all know enforcement varies from area to area. My daily routine really has not changed that much. The big difference is that We either can not do our normal shopping/lunch outing weekly. An the casinos are closed. I still do my daily maintenance walk, I just stay on roads where I am either known or that little traveled with no check points
Forum Support Tommy T. Posted April 5, 2020 Forum Support Posted April 5, 2020 In addition to cooking and baking more than before... I also stocked up over 1,000 movies over the past several years... There will be more recipe reports forthcoming unless someone simply says, "Enough Tommy!" 1

graham59 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 We've always had our small child to keep entertained, so no shortage of downloaded movies, cartoons, etc. DVDs too. Toys to break and then try to fix. I'm mainly kept busy doing DIY on my new 'man cave' room...having now finished knocking a wall through to it from the kitchen (so I can at least come and go to the CR without going outside in the rain !) ...and tidied up and boxed in the 'hole'. I also have two Xboxes, with games, and internet access through them also, for YouTube , etc, on the big screen. They are also conected by wifi to my laptop and phones, for streaming stuff or file access. Got to love modern gadgets, eh. The Mrs takes care of the garden, plus all the other normal 'housewife' stuff. 1
Popular Post intrepid Posted April 5, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 5, 2020 I'm finally starting to feel like I'm retired. With a 14 year old in school and a wife who doesn't like driving in the traffic. I'm the full time driver. Going to bed early(10PM) and getting up early (5AM)is the norm. Mid morning nap and afternoon nap before going back to the school for pick up and getting home between 530-630. Now I can stay up and sleep in as long as I want. Spend much more time in my workshop and trim bushes and flowers in the garden. Another advantage now there is not much traffic but then there is no place to go except supermarket and drug store. Hasn't really bothered me much at all. I was more concerned for out daughter who I thought would be going nuts by now. She did admit the other day after daily asking that she was a little bored. However, not bored enough to return to school. Her school had been sending assignments daily which they had to complete and submitted by the end of day. Also her soccer coach has assigned the team members exercises and drills to be completed daily which they have to video and send back to the coach. She has been getting good workouts and enjoys it. We like it also for her. I just know if I or her mom would suggest some exercise to her she would smile and say later and never do it. Thanks for a good and caring coach which all the girls seem to admire. I'm sure it helped they were the Champs this season loosing only one game.
