Extended Booze Ban till 31 March :571c66d400c8c_1(103):

Now... that's bad news.

That tells me that either the fools who go out and have parties without masks are causing more disease or there is at least the impression of it with Mayor Inday?

I might go out and buy a case of Tanday, Just in case Negros Oriental has the same idea.

so after a year of this locking down locking up, when will the people who paid to get elected ( let call spades, spades right !)  realise that putting a booze ban in pace is just a waste of time.

Those who know a ban is coming have stocked up.

Those little sari sari shops have a front and a back entrance... and unless theres Mr Plod at every entrance, everybody knows how and where to buy booze.

Nonsensical and a total waste of time ..but the people who claim to be in charge just follow  sheeplike what eeryone else does. Sadly no clear or lateral thinking here.. perhaps even no thinking at all.

did any of previous booze bans have any effect on the covid cases.. proof ?

You might want to make that two, Jim... It never goes bad (or worse?) and the price now is okay. Here, the black market price is almost double from before - so I have been told...

There are 2 things at play with these booze bans - firstly, they do have an impact on people gathering together and they do reduce the number of drunk people who may be careless when socialising.  And, it does present a business opportunity for those illegal sellers.

Proof is hard to provide because there are too many variables but by logical thinking they do no harm.

And you could always use the extra case to degrease your engine block or clean the oil stains on the driveway.

Agree this is one of the reasons NZ pretty much eliminated covid apart from a current minor out break. The whole point as mentioned...avoid crowds...alcohol does the opposite unless consumed at home.

This isn't New Zealand of course, and anyone believing that alcohol bans here in the Philippines will be observed by anything other than a tiny minority, among these highly family-orientated and sociable folk, is living in cloud cuckoo-land.
