Popular Post OnMyWay Posted May 2, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) About a week ago a dug out my old Wii so we would have another thing to do. I bought it when I lived in Germany in 2006, so it is already 14 years old and still going strong. We used to have Wii parties in Germany back then when Wii was new. It still is a great game box and you can get some exercise with it! My wife and 15 year old daughter have played a lot before and have good hand-eye coordination, so they are good. We mainly play Wii Sports. Last time we had it out was probably 3 years ago and I was the best at tennis and bowling back then. No more. My 15 year old shames me in tennis now, and I haven't found the groove in bowling yet. My two youngest (6 and almost 4) had never played it before and I thought it might be too hard for them. Wrong! Katy, my 6 year old was good at bowling and tennis within a few days. Leila, almost 4, took a few days to figure out the controllers. She would bug us to let her play and we let her in more and more. Now she is unbelievable! Nobody beats her in bowling. She is still learning the timing of tennis but can rally for quite a while and beat the computer sometimes. Yesterday after a basic lesson in golf from her sister, she has been playing on her own and actually learning how to golf on her own! She started just whacking it all over, but now she know went to hit it soft, etc. Today she tried boxing and she is good! Nice jabs and right cross! I was watching from my desk while she started a bowling game with 4 strikes, so I jumped up and caught the 5th in a row! Then in the 6th she had a split and picked it up! She opened in the 7th then finished with /,XX,/ in the 8, 9 and 10th, for a 231, her new high game. She jumped right back in and started another game with a double, and ended with a 197! I don't know if any of you have played Wii Sports before, but it is not as easy as she is making it look! When we had parties in Germany, there were some people who just could not get it, and they are the same people who are not good at real sports that require hand-eye coordination. You got it, or not! This first video is Leila's high game tonight, and the second is her boxing. 2020-05-02 Leila 231.mp4 2020-05-02 Leila boxing.mp4 Edited May 2, 2020 by OnMyWay 9
GeoffH Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 The Wii was a great casual gaming system, I find most of the Xbox and PS4 games a bit too serious and realistic. Games are meant to be fun, not work. 1

I used to race online a lot. Loved it. I do have proper steering wheels, pedals, etc. I have two full set-ups here. One in the sala and one in my bedroom. . They have Xboxs new at some gaming shops here. I bought mine on a visit to the U.S. and sent it back in a BB box. If you buy a new xbox one, some old games are not compatible. Sounds like you might need just a new power supply.

I bought them in the UK (both latest model 360E consoles... plus the Microsoft Forcefeedback wheels and pedals. Brought all over on the plane on different flights, but the 'cockit' assemblies I packed in Balikbayan boxes. I have so far 'refused' to buy an Xbox One, because my (expensive) wheels, etc, are not compatible...nevermind some of my games. Swines !
