All true and it effectively means that only middle class and above families will be able to take advantage of online learning.

For example, where some of the family are in Ozamiz most of the baranguay (including one of the schools) is outside cell phone coverage, let alone broad band coverage, only a couple have laptops, most of the family have phones but lots of them are cheaper phones (not smart phones).

I know we are where we are, and it is what it is but it's the pretence of having a viable solution that gets me - and it's not just related to this specific situation.  On the surface everything is fine and good but scratch even just a little below and you will see it isn't actually the case.

We had a dry run a month ago with 6 students and 1 teacher for 5 days.  There were no days when all 7 were able to take the lesson and 1 of the 6 only made it for 2 days and various others missed 1 or more days.  Sometimes the issues are  easily fixed IF the parent has some IT knowledge but....And, we live in a middle-class community on the outskirts of the city.  Doesn't bode well.

Oops!  Sorry, I replied to the previous couple of posts without reading the topic heading and just assumed it was about teaching.   My bad.
